1999

On 1st December, the registration of Chengdu Dongfang Catch Electric Co., Ltd. marked the official opening of the company whose plant and office was then located in the campus of Sichuan Dongfang Dynamics Vocational College, No. 145, Jinyang Road, Wuhou District, Chengdu City. Hereafter, the first high-voltage power inverter stepped into the phase of commissioning operation from R&D in the lab. 

In December, as the tech demo (technology demonstration) was completed from experimental prototype to the first industrial product, the design of the first generation of inverter began.

 

2000

On 7th, March, in the invested town, we rent a workshop (40 m2) from Sichuan Dongfang Digital Devices CO., Ltd and began general debugging on our first inverter (3.3kv/630KVA).

At 20 o’clock, 20th April, the first inverter completed its 72-hour continuous operation test in the Power Branch of Cheng Dou Wufeng Gangguan Chang Co., Ltd. The commissioning test of the equipment realized energy saving and water-supply pressure stabilizing, marking that our company had completed the development of high-voltage inverters and began to manufacture and make use of them.

On 7th, April, we signed the land-purchase agreement with Chengdu Modern Industrial Park administration committee, deciding to relocate the company and establish new plant.

In July, 2 urban water supply inverters were provided for the first time in China, owner being Beijing No. 6 Water Plant and load being pump.

In August, 2 thermal power plant fan inverters were provided for the first time in China, owner being Siping Thermal Power Plant and load being fan.

In September, the company began the research and application of electromagnetic compatibility of high-voltage power inverter, on-site grading protection strategy being firstly put forward and multi-layer (over 2 layers) PCB layout being applied for the first time. Later on, the development of the second generation of inverter was completed successfully. 

In November, for the first time, one high pressure water-injection pump inverter was provided and it set the record of 1000kVA capacity among domestic inverters, owner being Dagang Oilfield.

In November, the second generation of inverter took for the first time electromagnetic compatibility test of the master control system, and passed the test of Safety and EMC Testing Center of Electronic Industry (Straight A for all performance criteria).

 

2001

On 13th August, the company officially located in No. 2, Tianlang Road, Chengdu Modern Industrial Park, i.e. production area now.

In October, after on-site adjustment for many times and technology improvement, the company helps the 2 inverters in Siping Thermal Power Plant overcome the problems of over-voltage in operation to work normally. Meanwhile, related staff of the company obtains lots of experience and data during it and further improved the second generation of the high-voltage inverter.

 

2002

On 13th February, the company decided to develop power units using bypass technique; thus, the development of the third generation of inverter began and the electromagnetic compatibility design level would be improved comprehensively again.

In August, undisturbed power units using bypass technique was successfully developed for the first time in China, and the company applied for patent for the technique. In October, the first 3rd generation of inverter with undisturbed power units using bypass technique left the factory successfully.

In September, Zhou Lide, Assistant Chief Engineer of the company passed away. Mr. Zhou made a great contribution to the company in engineering product, especially in the design of phase-shifting transformer.

In October, the first 10kV inverter was tested and adjusted in the factory successfully.

In December, the first 10KV high-voltage inverter in China was successfully put into commissioning in Tianjin Taida (now Tijin Binhai).

On 21st November, the “earlier stage industrial key techniques and complete set of equipment of high-voltage power pollution-free inverter” project was successfully appraised and accepted in Beijing.

 

2003

On 14th July, Zhangli, the vice-general manager, along with other leaders of the company, went to visit Hitachi, paving the way for joint venture.

On 1st September, Mr. Azusawa Noboru and his colleagues of Hitachi Manufacturing Department come to the company for visitation.

On 10th November, Hitachi sent a delegation of 13 members to the company to study the feasibility of cooperation.

In October, IGBT, the parallel technique, was firstly adopted and PC800, the biggest power unit for the third generation was developed, which increased the power capacity to 2850kVA for the first time in China. Meanwhile, the first inverter with air-water cooling functions in China was launched into the market and the company applied for patent for it.

 

2004

On 18th February, Li Yuzhuo, general manager of Beijing Leader & Harvest Electric Technology Co., Ltd., along with Wu Jialin, CEO of Chengdu Jialing Electric Appliance Co., Ltd, come to visit the company.

In the afternoon of 1st December, Dongfang Hitachi (Chengdu) Electrical Control Equipment CO., LTD held a grand opening ceremony in Chengdu Modern Industrial Park. The ceremony was mainly attended by Liu Hongjian, Chengdu deputy party secretary, Li Kunxue, member of the standing committee and the secretary of the party committee of Chengdu Modern Industrial Park, Jing Gang, assistant mayor, association director of administration of Chengdu Modern Industrial Park, Wang Lin and Song Hui, leaders of party committee and administration association, Mr. Azusawa Noboru, deputy director of the information control system business division of Hitachi manufacturing department, and Wang Ji, board chairman of Dongfang Electric Group.

In April, the instantaneous power failure project for high-voltage power inverter started and in August the project was successfully completed. High-voltage power inverter with instantaneous power failure function is the first one in China and the company applied patent for it.

In July, R&D and Design Department began to carry out national and international standards comprehensively. Meanwhile, the company participated in the edit and draft-up of related national standards and industrial standards (GB12668.5 etc.).

During the year, two HI inverters were installed for the first time in Baima Power Plant and put into use successfully.

 

2005

From 17th to 26th of December, the company participated in 2005 “Conservation-Oriented Society” Exhibition organized by 13 government sectors, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Central Propaganda Department, the Environmental Protection & Resources Conservation Committee, and the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC. And the company was awarded “Excellent Design" and “Excellent Organization” by the organization committee.

In July, the company decided to develop the fourth generation of inverter and the technical department composed "Outline for the Design Aims of the Fourth Generation of High-Voltage Power Inverter”, with the purpose of further improving our products’ reliability, manufacturability, installability and reducing cost on the basis of advanced technology of Hitachi inverters.

In July, centered on the development of the fourth inverter, the company applied for patents for Main Circuit Bypass Techniques, Optical Fiber Series Connection Communications, Soft Excitation, New Structure and other techniques.

In November, the first HI High-Voltage Inverter exclusively used by Speed Sensor-less Vector Control Synchronous Motor rolled off the production line, the owner being BAOGANG Group.

 

2006

On 13th January, Plates Workshop and Technology Department Office of the company were completed successfully.

On 19th January, masaharu sumikawa, vice president of Hitachi come to our company for inspection.

On 10th March, the company was awarded the honor of “2005 Big Taxpayer” and “2005 Excellent High-Tech Enterprise” by CCP Chengdu Modern Industrial Park Working Committee and Chengdu Modern Industrial Park Administration Committee.

In May, the first I-6 power unit of the fourth generation of inverter was tested successfully.

On 7th July, Beijing First Intermediate People’s Court accepted the accusation of patent infringement against Hiconics Drive Technology Co., Ltd. brought by Beijing Leader & Harvest Electric Technologies Co., Ltd. and our company.

On 26th August, a rapid brake unit was developed for the special application of high-voltage inverter in steel works. This rapid brake unit is firstly developed in China and has applied for patent successfully.

In November, the first set of 4th generation of inverter completed all function tests (routine tests) and rolled off the production line.

On 17th November, Liu Jie, general manager of Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation, and his colleagues come to our company for visit, accompanied by Liu Shigang, vice board chairman of Dongfang Electric Group, and Cai Tongzhou, vice general manager of the engineering division of Dongfang Electric Group. 

2007

In April, only in less than 3 months, IV-6 Double-Body Power Unit High Voltage Inverter was successfully developed, which is the shortest in inverter development.

On 19th September, the fourth generation of high voltage inverter was put into production comprehensively.

 

2008

On 29th April, Yunnan Municipal Government Energy-Saving Office announced, “Yunnan – Hitachi Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Project” has successfully achieve the first aim. KunSteel Group, the company implemented the project, has selected two sets of inverter systems from our company for test run and its total electric power consumption in the initial testing stage reduced by 26%.

On 12th May, a disastrous earthquake fell upon Wenchuan and spread to Chengdu. The company has no casualties found and only some ceilings fell in certain places.

From 14th to 20th of May, the company organized orderly the staff to donate and go to the seismic region to give a hand.

On 7th June, the company’s leaders and members of Communist Party Office, labor union and Youth League branch got together and went to the disaster area, visiting victims of the staff and presenting them with certain money and daily necessities.

In the afternoon of 16th October, Kazuo Furukawa, president of Hitachi Manufacturing Department come to the company for visit, accompanied by Wen Shugang, CEO of Dongfang Electric Group.

 

2009

On 19th March, Baosteel, one of our clients, did leave-factory check and acceptance on the 1st grid-connected high-voltage synchronized inverter from our company.

On 22nd March, the committee of “2008 China Distinction and Leading People and Enterprises in Energy Saving and Emission Reduction” Promotion Activities officially informed DHC of that, after evaluation and discussion, it had passed the re-evaluation of “2008 China Leading Enterprise in Energy Saving and Emission Reduction” and was invited to attend the Award Party for the “1st China Green Industrial Economic Platform & 2008 Distinction People and Enterprise in Energy Saving and Emission Reduction” that would be held in Beijing on 28th, March.

On 3rd April, the first wind turbine power inverters of our company were successfully put into use in Laizhou Wind Farm and combined to the grid.

On 10th July, the company was awarded “AAAAA Enterprise for Quality Credit (International)” by China Association for Quality.

On 16th July, the company was listed in “Sichuan 2009 First Group of Identified High-Tech Enterprises”.

On 18th August, Nakanishi Hiroaki, executive director and vice president of Hitachi Manufacturing Department arrived in DHC, making inspection and advising.

In the afternoon of 24th September, the “Energy-Saving & Reviving Economy” Expert Forum of the 4th Sichuan Young and Middle-aged Experts Academic Meeting was held by Dongfang Hitachi (Chengdu) Electrical Control Equipment Co., Ltd in No. 6 conference room.
